Summer 2011 RoadTrip Webzine Online
I’ve finished the summer 2011 edition of my self published web magazine, RoadTrip. This issue contains photos from Ocean City, MD, the Outer Banks of NC, Pittsburgh, PA and several other places I explored over the summer months.
RoadTrip is hosted on Issuu.com, a .pdf hosting site that incorporates a .pdf viewer that allows people to browse the content by flipping the pages of magazine-like spreads that can be built in layout software like Adobe InDesign. This platform allows me to combine 3 things that I love: photography, layout/design and somewhat useless facts about places I’ve been.

Photo Shoot for Humana Active Outlook Magazine
I few months ago I photographed a cover story for Humana Active Outlook magazine. The story was about the healthy lifestyle of Larry Cheever of Webster Springs, WV. The challenge was to make photos of an abstract concept of healthy living. One of the focuses of the article was that Mr. Cheever was an avid gardener and vegitartian. He gets a lot of his vegtables and produce from a large garden he grows and maintains, so I was able to make some nice photos of him working the soil and harvesting his produce. I also discovered that he liked to hike, chop wood and do yard work, giving me a lot of options to get him in action.

WVU SOJ Visiting Committee
Ryan and Megan at the Outer Banks
While at the Outer Banks in August I did a brief engagement session for Ryan Warner and Megan Aftanas. It was brief because I had fresh crab cakes at home waiting on me. Priorities.

On Sept. 11, 2001 I was in grad school at Syracuse University and a few days later went down to the city to photograph what I saw…I thought I would gather up a few of those photos and make a little collection for the anniversary.
