I recently had the opportunity to photograph a session at On Eagles’ Wings Therapeutic Riding Center near Morgantown, WV. On Eagles’ Wings is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International Member Center. Equine-assisted therapy helps those with special needs with things like flexibility, balance and strength. Those who can benefit from equine therapy can range from a young person with Down syndrome to an adult recovering from an auto accident.
In this series of photos, instructor Patty Harman helps WVU student Natalie Doerr with equine-assisted therapy. Doerr is a senior public relations major who has Multiple Sclerosis.
The photographs are for the P.I. Reed School of Journalism’s PR 458 healthcare capstone course. The class is creating a public relations campaign for the riding center and the photos will be used in promotional pieces.
